Document Lifecycle
What is a document lifecycle?
In Quality Manager, each document follows a structured path from its creation to its archival. This lifecycle ensures traceability, compliance, and quality of your documents.
Lifecycle stages
Here are the different stages a document can go through in Quality Manager:
Creation
Everything starts here: you create a new document by entering its essential information (title, type, content, etc.).
Implementation
Once validated and approved, the document becomes active and applicable in your organization. It is then accessible to the relevant users.
Document audit: To maintain the validity of applicable documents, see the Document audit section which explains how to extend a document's validity without revising it.
Revision
When a document requires an update (regulatory change, process improvement, correction...), it enters the revision phase.
Archival
When a document is no longer active (replaced by a new version or has become obsolete), it is archived while remaining accessible for consultation.
History
At any time, view the complete history of a document to track all modifications and actions performed.
