Using filters and sorting
To organize and refine the display of your data directly in a view, you have dynamic sorting and filtering tools by column.
1. Sorting data
Sorting allows you to classify your records according to a specific criterion for better clarity.
- How to do it: Click on the header of the desired column. A first click sorts in ascending order (A-Z or 0-9), a second click in descending order.
- Indicator: A small arrow appears next to the column name to indicate the sorting direction.
- Benefit: Ideal for finding the most recent documents (sort by date) or classifying records by client or supplier.
2. Filtering data by column
Filtering allows you to temporarily hide information that doesn't interest you so you can focus on the essentials.
- How to do it: Click on the funnel icon (filter) located in the column header.

Available filter types
Depending on the type of information contained in the column, Avanteam adapts the options for greater efficiency:
Text Filter (for names, references, descriptions)
- Contains: Displays lines where the entered text is present anywhere (most commonly used).
- Starts with / Ends with: To target prefixes (e.g., references starting with "FAC").
- Equals / Does not equal: For an exact search.
- Is empty / Is not empty: Useful for identifying records where information is missing.
Value List Filter (for statuses, services, categories)
- Displays a list of checkboxes with all values present in the column.
- Allows selecting one or multiple values simultaneously (e.g., view records that are "In progress" AND "Overdue").
Date Filter (for creation, due, validation dates)
- Period selection: "Yesterday", "This month", "This year", etc.
- Custom range (Between ... and ...): To filter on a specific interval.
- Before / After: To target records created before or after a specific date.
Numeric Filter (for amounts, quantities)
- Greater than / Less than / Equal: To filter by thresholds (e.g., amounts > €1000).
- Between two values: To define a price or quantity range.
Filter combination and management
- Filter combination: You can filter multiple columns at the same time (e.g., Filter by Status = "Validated" AND Owner = "My Name").
- Clear filters: A "Clear all" button or specific icon allows you to remove all active filters and instantly return to the complete view.
The benefit for you
These tools transform your views into true interactive dashboards. Without needing to perform a new search, you can extract a working sub-list in seconds (e.g., the list of my pending invoices for supplier X).
