Full-text search and indexing

Full-text search is a powerful feature of Avanteam that allows you to find documents based on their content, not just their metadata.

What is full-text search​

Avanteam automatically indexes the content of attachments (Word, PDF, Excel).

The system can search for your keyword inside your documents themselves, not just in titles or form fields.

OCR (Optical Character Recognition)​

OCR (Optical Character Recognition) is a technology that works automatically in the background.

When you scan a document, the application "reads" the text contained in the image.

Advantage​

You can find a scanned document by typing any word from its content in the search bar.

Business Case Example (Quality)

You receive a batch of 50 supplier material certificates in paper format.

  1. Scan everything at once.
  2. Use the Splitting screen to separate each certificate visually.
  3. OCR analyzes the content. Later, if you search for "Alloy X25", the search engine will find the right scanned certificate in seconds.
